Hi Diamondbacks,
At the beginning of summer, Mrs. Belcoe accepted a principal position at a school in Lone Pine, CA. While she is going to miss being at DRA, she is very excited about the opportunity to be the principal of her own school. Mr. Borgen and a few others interviewed several candidates for the assistant principal position. An unreliable source told KDRA news that even though Mr. Martinez refused to wear a Yankees' hat during the interview, he was still selected to be our newest assistant principal ( One can't help but admire his integrity and commitment to the Dodgers. :) Congratulations, Mr. Martinez!!!! |
Hi Diamondbacks, The first day of school is quickly approaching, so here's the scoop on the first day of school bell schedule. First, advisory time has been changed from before first period on Mondays to after 7th period on Mondays (see new bell schedule) . This way we can end our day with our advisory class, get the announcements, check-in with our advisory teacher, etc. BUT...on the first day of school you are going to go to advisory before first period and after 7th. Why? Well, as many of you know, you will pick up your schedule in your advisory class on the first day of school. When you get to school, you will see a big grade-level sign that has your name and advisory teacher listed. Go to this classroom before 1st period. Your advisory teacher will give you your schedule. You will start you day and end your day in your advisory classroom. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and KDRA news will glady answer them. Here is the first day of school schedule:
Can't wait to see you! |

Hi D'Backs, Today I saw a momma moose and her baby eating lunch near my friend's house. :) A mother moose is called a cow and a baby moose is called a calf. The moose is the largest member of the deer family. Its predators are the grizzly bear and man. They are fast runners. The cow will protect her calf and charge you if she feels like she is in danger. Apparently, this momma likes me. :) |
Marcus Wood has been named new principal at Shadow Hills High School!
Mr. Wood was the principal at John Glenn Middle School. He is a fantastic leader and excellent principal. He is also a huge 49er's fan so SHHS is in good hands! Go, Niners! P.S. You can read his letter of introduction on the Shadow Hills website. |
Hi D'Backs
Thought you might enjoy this video clip of the creek that runs through my friend's backyard in Alaska! Stay cool!
