I was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin.  I attended the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree in Education, grades K - 6 with a minor in Special Education. I graduated from college in 1997. Upon graduating, I was offered a position in the Palm Springs Unified School District teaching a first and second grade combination classroom at Cahuilla Elementary School.

After three years at Cahuilla Elementary School, I decided to transfer to the Desert Sands Unified School District.  I accepted a position at Lincoln Elementary School teaching second grade.  Seven great years later, I transferred to Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle School to teach sixth grade math and science.  My years at Col. Mitchell Paige helped prepare me for my position as Dean of Students at Desert Ridge Academy!

Some of my accomplishments include graduating from California State University - San Bernadino with a masters degree in middle school education, earning New Teacher of the Year award at Cahuilla, Teacher of the Year at Lincoln, Teacher of the Year at Col. Mitchell Paige and Teacher of the Year at Desert Ridge Academy!!! My greatest honor was receiving the Teacher of the Week award from the local radio station. This is my favorite award because it was presented by one of my students!!!

My family includes my wife, Tammy, our three beautiful and energetic children, and our two dogs!  I met my wife while teaching at Cahuilla Elementary School.  She is a Project Facilitator at Monroe Elementary School.  I have four favorite hobbies: watching football (Go Green Bay Packers!!!), going to Angels basesball games, listening to music and hiking.

Education is my passion.  There is nothing greater than seeing students excited about learning and willing to try their best.  I want my students at DRA to know that I care about each of them and will do whatever I can to help them succeed!!!

Packer fans forever!!!

My walking buddy, Molly!
