Most in-class work is for the development or practice of specific skills. The Interactive Journal is the filing cabinet for housing the warm-up or bell work, writing practice, event discussion, character trait work, and/or skill sheets.
The purpose of class time is to ask questions for clarity and work toward completion of the activity. Should a student not complete the work, each is responsible to finish it over night and have it prepared for the next day.
Some assignments are longer term projects and class time is set asside for either collaborative work, questions, or use of school materials. When this time is not used efficiently, students will fall behind.
