LA QUINTA HIGH SCHOOL
CAMERATA LA QUINTA
BLACKHAWKS ON BROADWAY
MIXED CHORUS/WOMEN’S CHOIR
Instructor: Ms. Terri Ridilla
La Quinta High School offers vocal music to all interested students in grades 9-12. Camerata La Quinta is an audition ensemble. Members were selected after auditioning last year. Camerata La Quinta is the official performing ensemble that represents La Quinta High at off campus engagements. There are two other choirs, Blackhawks on Broadway and Women’s Chorus. They will also sing at various performances on and off campus. After school groups for everyone include Hawkettes and Chromatics and CLQ Chamber Singers.
This year students will have the opportunity of being selected for the Tri-M-Society (Modern Music Masters) a national music honorary. Selection is based on academic GPA, a music grade, performance and involvement in the choir classes and its extra curricular activities. Students will also be evaluated on their enthusiasm, level of commitment, and positive attitude in and out of music classes.
In order to pass these performance classes, each student is required to perform in all concerts
. The performances and rehearsals act as a final.
Required performances include the Holiday and Spring Concerts. Many performance opportunities arise as the year progresses. Students are expected to participate. CLQ and Blackhawks on Broadway members are required to be in the annual March production of Blackhawks on Broadway.
