Credit Deficient Senior Program... WHAT IS IT - The program offers a senior student one or two 12-meeting sessions with a maximum of two classes each. That means that a student who signs up will be required to make 12 appointments with work. So it's possible to get a session done in 12 to 15 weeks (with the maximum of 2 absences). A student can only have two sessions. HOW TO GET IN - The counselor helps the student fill out the DSUSD form (40)-43 "Student Program". Please be legible. The counselor then sends the completed (make a copy for yourself if you wish) contract Horizon School (Independent Study). A teacher will be assigned and he/she will call the student and schedule an appointment with the student to start. Horizon will then send the contract copies back to the Administrator responsible for counseling at your school. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT THE STUDENT'S GRADE IS - Horizon will send a report card back to the school Administrator; see above, at the completion of the student's session. WHAT IS THE LAST DATE A STUDENT COULD START A SESSION -Instruction for the CDS Program ends the first week of May. No students will be enrolled after Friday, March 15th, and those students could not miss a single session.
