Advanced Placement | Honors
Summer assignments are a prerequisite for many of our honors and AP classes. Even if your class is not listed, there may be an assignment and you should contact the teacher. NOTE: assignments may not be up to date - check the date on all handouts to make sure you are doing 2013-14 work!
1. Acquire the Cracking the AP World History Exam book (ISBN 978-0-307-94491-7)
a. Read the section on how to write a DBQ.
b. Take notes on this section.
2. Read Chapters 1-5 in the Textbook: World Civilizations: The Global Experience (check out from PDHS library before )
a. Answer the 16 questions in the attachment Textbook Questions: Chs 1-5 (Questions may be answered with or without the textbook. Students will need to research the answers if they do not get a textbook).
b. There will be a test on Chapters 1-5 on Monday, September 9th, 2013. (approximately 50 questions)
3. Complete the Geography assignment, to be turned-in the first day of school.
4. Read the book Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage (ISBN 978-0-8027-1588-3) prior to the first day of school.
a. Answer the questions that are attached under the title, Edible History Assignment.
b. This assignment is due .
