Message from the Principal
Welcome to Hoover Elementary School. As always, it is an honor and a pleasure to work with staff, parents, and community members whose #1 goal is academic achievement for all of our students.
Hoover School shares our district mission. That is, to offer a strong academic program in a pleasing, safe environment, and to prepare all children for equal opportunities, to be life-long learners and independent thinkers, and productive, ethical members of a global society. With this mission in mind, it is with great pleasure that I share with our community that Hoover School is NOT a program improvement school, and our staff continues to strive for an 800 Academic Performance Index. We are very proud of our current API of 791.
Keeping this mission in mind, the staff at Hoover School will continue their commitment to professional development training in all academic areas. Thus providing our students with a high quality, standard based instructional program that assures the students' academic achievement suited to their abilities. We are proud of recent efforts to make gains on California Standards Test, and will continue to provide a strong academic atmosphere to ensure continued success.
Our parents play a very important role in our school. Their support and participation is evident in their attendance to the many school activities, such as Family Academic Fair Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, School Site Council meetings and Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Our School Site Council, and Mrs. Amelia Magaña, president of our Parent's Club are very active in the decision-making process at Hoover School.
As we look at the coming year, it is our expectation, that students recognize that school is a challenge, a privilege, a responsibility, a right, and an opportunity for life long learning, challenges and opportunities.
