We are excited about a new year here at Franklin Elementary. As a school that has the honor of being named by the CA Business for Educational Excellence as a STAR School, a California Distinguished School and a Title 1 Academic Achievement Award winner it has always been our goal at Franklin to offer the highest quality education.
As principal at Franklin Elementary I have been an integral part of the Franklin family since the inception of the school. I served as a classroom teacher and the TRAC/EL Coach, as well as, the IB and Assessment Coordinator at Franklin. I have completely enjoyed working with our OUTSTANDING staff! I believe we have the best staff, students, families, and community support anywhere. I am thrilled to lead the Charge as we move forward into another fantastic school year.
Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself if we have not had the opportunity to officially meet. For those of you that I have had the pleasure of meeting, please feel free to stop by and say hello.

Ben Franklin's IB Program
Ben Franklin Elementary School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school. The IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation) based in Geneva, Switzerland offers schools three programmes: the Diploma Programme for students in the final two years of secondary school, the Middle Years Programme for students aged 11 to 16, and the Primary Years Programme for students aged 3 to 12.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP), for students aged 3 to 12, focuses on the development of the whole child, in the classroom but also in the world outside, through other environments where children learn. It offers a framework that meets children's several needs: academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural.
It offers an opportunity for learners to construct meaning, principally through concept-driven inquiry. Traditional academic subjects are part of the programme but it emphasizes the interrelatedness of knowledge and skills through a transdisciplinary programme of inquiry.
