Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963) is a former  professional basketball player, active businessman, and majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. His biography on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website states, "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time."Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980's and 1990's.

MYP Technology Course Description: John Glenn Middle School provides technological literacy by enabling students to develop critical-thinking and design skills, which they can apply in a practical context. Recognizing the need for embedding the learning of specific technology tools in authentic tasks and integrating it in projects and assignments that are part of the curriculum of core subjects such as Science, Language Arts, Math and Social Studies. The idea that technology is a “tool” can be reinforced with students when it is taught as a tool to achieve a larger purpose. While designing may take various forms, it will involve the selective application of knowledge within an ethical framework. It will focus on the design, development, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of inquiry projects, and their solution through practical applications. It is in this context that John Glenn Technology aims to develop in students:

Instructional Practices: Instructional methods that support project-based learning (PBL), critical thinking skills, cooperative learning, varying learning styles, differentiation, content area standards, information literacy, and career exploration will be used. The “design cycle” is the central tool used by students to create and evaluate products or solutions in response to challenges in technology.
The MYP technology design cycle consists of four main stages and these relate to the objectives of the course: investigate, plan, create, and evaluate.
Differentiation Strategies: Students are given opportunities to:
*Expand their knowledge of a wide variety of software programs
*Explore, evaluate and choose appropriate software for assigned projects
* Acquire and improve their technological skills at an individualized pace based on their learning styles *Receive frequent formative feedback Grading: Students will be graded using a combination of summative and formative assessments.
Assessment Definitions:
Summative: Assessment designed to provide information to be used in making judgments about a student's achievement at the end of a unit of instruction.
Formative: Assessment designed to inform the learner and the teacher about strengths and weakness and to provide direction for improvement and/or adjustment to a program for individual students or for a whole class during a unit of instruction.
Methods of Assessment: Knowledge and skills will be evaluated through the use of rubrics
